Jun 1st onwards: UN Operation MONUC

Starting June 1st, 2008 through August every week on Sunday between 1700-2100Z VATDRC will be hosting the UN Operation MONUC event sponsored by Captain Sim. ATC services will include FZAA (Kinshasa), FZQA (Lubumbashi) and FZIC (Kisangani). In order to qualify as a contestent to claim a prize your flight must be booked on our web site decated to this event. Contests will be held in monthly campaigns where the pilot that has accumulated the most amount of flying time down to the minute and has followed all the competition rules outlined below during these times will be the winner! The winner at the end of each month will get a base package of any Captain Sim product of their choosing!

May 31st: Win prizes at the Palouse Poker Run

ZSE's annual poker run is returning to Eastern Washington state and Oregon (known locally as the "Palouse") on Saturday May 31, 2008 from 21-03z (2-6 PM PDT).

New features this year include real-time status of cards dealt on the ZSE website and a "wildcard" option: if you have a bad hand after visiting 3 airports, you can choose to gamble on your next destination and have your hand completely replaced by using the wildcard deck.

A special thanks to HiFi Simulation Software and Flight1 Software for their support of this year's Poker Run event! HiFi will provide a winner a selection of your choice. May 31st: Golden Tulips Fly-In

The Netherlands, country of the cheese, wooden shoes, and the tulips. And in this time of the year we've got those beautiful tulips here in Holland in great numbers. Why don't you pick an aircraft, and fly that 'golden tulip' to or from the beautiful city of Amsterdam?

Our 'Golden Tulips' Fly-in will be held on Saturday, the 31st of May. The Dutch VACC will take care of staffing Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, from 17:00 till 21:00 UTC.

So, dig up or print your charts, and be ready to join this fly-in! Of course charts, scenery and an unofficial update of the taxiways for the Cloud9 scenery are available on the Dutch VACC website

May 25th:Helsinki Real Ops 2008

After the successful Helsinki Spring Heat –event, the same crew arranges an even bigger and better event, Helsinki Real Ops, held in Helsinki-Vantaa (EFHK/HEL) on Sunday, 25th of May. There are about 200 available flights to be booked. The booking system can be found on our event website. After successful booking, our event crew will provide each pilot a decent flightplan via e-mail.

As the traffic numbers are expected to be high, parallel approaches will be used during the event, if weather permits it.

May 24th: Sunny Skies Tower Hop

ZAB welcomes you to sunny Phoenix, AZ on May 24th, to come fly in the Valley of the Sun. But don't bring your heavy metal - Phoenix is the busiest and most concentrated flight training area in the country. So dust off your Cessna or Piper, and enjoy the friendly desert skies from 2200 to 0200 zulu.

May 24th: Larnaca & Paphos Online

Cypriot VACC invites you to a 10 hour' non-stop event, ( 11:00Z - 21:00Z / 14:00 - 24:00 Local time) which will take place on Saturday 24th May 2008! Expect top quality of ATC coverage at Larnaka and at Paphos airport, the two major airports of Cyprus. We will also have the honor to have the participation of Mr. Paris Georgiades a real life controller in Nicosia FIR.

Larnaka is able to accept aircraft from the lightest cessnas up to the modern A330/340 and B777 and of course the Queen of the skies B747-400! So, refuel your favourite aircraft,make your passengers feel comfortable and give us a visit during our event! We will be very happy to see you filling our skies!

May 24th: Cairo - Sharm Al Sheikh City Hopping

After the great success during the Cairo- Hurghada City Hopping event earlier this year VATEG - VATSIM Egyptian vACC is pleased to announce its second domestic City Hopping Event, this time between Cairo and Sharm Al Sheikh Intl airports.

Enjoy a short trip that won't take more than 1 Hour from start up till shutdown. You will experience high quality ATC provided by our staff that includes real world ATCs serving on their real facilities and the beautiful scenery of the high mountains of Sinai. Prepare your cameras as you will be over flying the St. Catherine's Monastery located at the foot of Mount Moses While Crossing the CAT NDB ( Catherine NDB ).

May 18/19th: Coastal Range Eruption

Seattle, Oakland and Los Angeles ARTCCs are pleased to announce a collaborative event, featuring 2 airports each. Seattle will be featuring KSEA and KMFR, Oakland will be featuring KSFO and KSJC while KLAX will feature KLAX and KSBA. Full staffing will be provided from Sunday night 18th May 5pm-9pm PDT (Monday 19th May 0000z-0400z).

May 15th: Finland - ATC training and Nordic Fly-In

Traffic is needed for ATC-training in Finland (position EFES CTR) on Thursday May 15th 1700-1900Z. EFES ACC will cover both the Northern and the Southern Finland. We request both IFR and VFR flights. Remember also our Nordic Fly-In, starting at 1600UTC! Welcome!

May 17th: Three Times Berlin 2008

Real Operations event in the Berlin area: three airports EDDB, EDDI and EDDT are fully staffed and provide service for your real scheduled flights from and to Berlin. May 3rd: VFR Flying Rally - Estonia
