Dec 23rd: San Juan CERAP “Traffic Jam ‘06”

The San Juan CERAP will be hosting a free-for-all event next Saturday (Dec. 23rd) from 6PM local time through midnight (2200-0400Z).

Our main airports, San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín Int’l (TJSJ) and St.
Maarten’s Princess Juliana Int’l (TNCM), will be fully staffed, and airports like St. Thomas (TIST) and St. Croix (TISX) will be staffed down to Tower. Some of the best controllers in VATCAR, even those from other FIRs, have been invited to staff positions within San Juan to ensure satisfactory staffing levels. Philbert Charles, a real air traffic controller that works in St. Maarten, will be staffing Juliana Approach for the night, so get your charts out! Local information can be found at www.sjucerap.org

To provide as many options as possible for pilots, we have ensured the
participation of all the surrounding FIR/ARTCC’s, including Miami and New York Oceanic Centers, to provide uninterrupted ATC services all the way to the San Juan CERAP from the United States. Real routes to several destinations in the U.S and surrounding FIR/ARTCCs have been posted on the Preferred Routes Section of our website, and real routes between the United States and the San Juan CERAP, along with routes between most real destinations and San Juan, can be found at www.flightaware.com . If you are unable to locate a route, do ask on our forums and we will be more than happy to provide a preferred route for the flight.

Virtual airlines are more than welcome to participate. For more information, or to confirm participation, please contact our Events Coordinator, José Vega, at joseheidi (at) hotmail.com
